Old Music

Everyone who knows me, knows that I’ll probably listen to most anything music-wise…or if I’m at home, I’ll whiz through a ton of songs, probably not even playing a song in its entirety.  But lately, I admit, on the radio it’s been classic rock, oldies, old alternative, country, nothing really new.  Even when I’m listening to music at home, it’s rarely nothing new.  So the question is, does this mean I’m now old?  That I’d rather see the $15 for a new CD, go towards a bottle of Bourbon or a case of beer and playing my…old music?

Influential Tendencies

I should get a hooded coat to wear outside when I play my acoustic guitar or short of that, since I don’t play anything well or resembling anything good, even if you were able to recognize a song, I should continue listening to Damien Rice as I have been of late. Rice’s first CD O has been in the house CD collection for a while now, but I never actually paid attention to it until recently. I didn’t connect with the songs when I first listened to it years ago…maybe I was listening to more “aggressive” music then…but now for example, I think I can relate to Rice’s music along the lines of AiC’s acoustic songs and 7M3′s American Standard and Rock Crown. So however this describes my musical tastes, my change in disposition, I definitely suggest to give Damien Rice a listen, however you may try it out for yourself, in your own way…headphones at 3 a.m., while driving home (or away) alone or while contemplatively being outside, thinking and listening.
