Fry Cool

Cool Fry Cook

Going to be busting out the brand new deep fryer. Tonight it’s skillet fried square cheese hamburgers and homemade French fries. Tomorrow it’s shrimp, fish and chips, err halibut and French fries. A bottle of Evan Williams, a six-pack of Guinness and Miller Lite for the rest (of the night). This definitely has indications that it’s not quite backyard social, cooking outside time, but moments prefacing such events. Got to remember to get the grass fertilizer down and cherry bomb the fucking mole/s.

Work Keys

CTM Key Ring I’m probably about two keys away from having to carrying as many keys as a prison guard for work…those two keys being the one to the private bathroom and the liquor cabinet.  I tried the carabiner way and that sucked because all of the belt loops on my pants started to be loose and almost rip off…nothing to do with being a fat-ass as I am now weighing less than intermediate high school fighting weight.  I actually resorted to using the leather belt loop key ring from my wallet chain.  The button broke on the first one, so I recently ransacked the Harley-Davidson wallet chain in the interim. For the long-term duration, I ordered a couple of reinforcements.

Saturday Sports

Iowa on the Big Ten Network Being that Saturdays stack up as my primary television sports watching day…the exception being nationally televised games for “my teams” and the playoffs when applicable, I was happy to find out that my local Comcast cable system now has the Big Ten Network. With the ability to watch NFL games even less last year than ever before, I watched more Saturday college football games, but now I can watch Iowa football games…and basketball and more. I’d say that’s pretty nice. I’d say that calls for more fall weekends of breaking out the Crock Pot and recipes and grocery store runs for chips, snacks and beer.

Fucking 4

Fucking Four*

*Referencing the expression, “Fucking ‘A’.”

Update:  Favre will always be a Packer, but in the short term, while with another team, why is his Packers jersey, still selling for full-price?

Tool Bag Work…It’s Huge

Veto Pro Pac OT-XL

Being the tool whore that I am becoming, I bought a new tool bag. The Klein one I was using…the one that replaced the previously recycled work-issued one…was on the small side, with the additional tools for phone jobs ending up being jammed inside. My butt set or drill can be carried in the OT-XL, but probably won’t be a regular carry in it. So far, the OT-XL accommodates all of my tools with some room to spare, although it’s odd that there are so many individual pen/pencil (hand-tool?) holders throughout…or at least, I set up my bag for use-convenience rather than fitting all of my tools in the numerous pockets and slots and “tool-blocking” each other. It will be interesting to see if I do end up saving myself spent energy and trips back to the rig to retrieve additional tools and equipment with the new tool bag.

Celtics Collection

Boston Celtics NBA Champions 2007-2008

Looks like it’d be something good to watch when there’s no good sports on television, perhaps in a lobby while you wait or because during basketball season, you bleed green and this was a season for the ages.

In the Band

Wii Rock Band

Instead of Wii Fit, this was picked up on the first day after its release date. Rock on.

Brett Favre

Thank you Brett Favre.

Favre Retires

See you in Canton in five years.

Touch Me

HTC Touch This is what you end up getting, when at the end of a long day after stepping in dog shit (with heavy lug boots), getting the said dog shit on the leg of your jeans, going to Sears to buy a new pair of jeans, getting off of work late after a day of being in horrid, winter-like, blustery, sleeting, cold weather. You end up washing it all way, including your nearly new, cell phone.

Not being left with a whole lot of full-priced choices, I decided upon the Sprint “version” of the HTC Touch moreso for its internet ability, rather than any iPhone like similarities, albiet, I am someone without AT&T service and will deal with an MS operating product, as long as there is the possibility of hackability and personal customization.

My other option was the Blackberry Pearl, but I am not so much into e-mail (writing), rather I’d opt for getting access to the internet and phone…possibly media.

Good thing the Touch comes with a boxful of accessories, because I can’t afford much else after the phone purchase itself. I hope any of my Mac-Touch concerns are covered. Or the work-arounds are successfully palatable enough.

Socks and Shoes, Socks and Boots

Nike Zoom Air BB I had to resort to ordering new socks online, being that no store sold black (performance) socks that I needed…for work (and my new, still breaking-in, Danner work, steel-toe boots), sans logo that was not associated with a specific shoe company…I don’t think I can digest that dis-coordination. Anyway, I went through Eastbay again, despite my past issue with a delayed, back-ordered shoe…I still think most online stores share the same back-end inventory and warehouse, just with different front-end sites. So, I ended up with some Under Armour black, crew socks, but also figured I’d go ahead and grab a pair of new Nikes. I opted for the Nike Zoom Air BB in (basically) black and gold/yellow since they were out of stock on the black and white and I can handle the fact that it’s got the gold accents. Come to find out though, the new kicks I ordered do come shipped with an additional pair of black shoelaces, so it ends up not being too out there and wild with the standard issue, gold/yellow laces. I think I was more disappointed with the toe area and the material there…is that pleather?! But, I’ll see…it will probably just function as something to wear on days off and maybe a solo/pick-up basketball game.
